At its heart, this project is about family; who they are and how they live. A family looking to downsize and build spaces that encourage connectivity. A family that enjoys their time together, and enjoys celebrating the simple things with family and friends. Simplicity and authenticity, with an eye for craft and quality, drove many of the design decisions and detailing on this interior and exterior renovation project. An existing 1920’s cottage and a gracious corner lot was the starting point. Collaborating closely with the project team early programming identified several gathering spaces, interior and exterior, public and private. The garden won a Merit Award for design from the Alabama Chapter of the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects).
