Overhill

This project's vision was to preserve the natural beauty of the existing landscape, providing a seamless transition between the newly-renovated Georgian home and exterior grounds. Located in the rolling hills of Mountain Brook, Alabama, the estate is on a severe slope with an elevation change of over 40 feet. To preserve the ground's natural features, we created a series of garden rooms organized off a central axis aligned with the home's centerline. Steps in the garden lead down to a swimming pool designed to preserve the 2,000 square feet of mature American Boxwoods planted over 80 years ago.
